About Me
A journey through photography, nature, and creative expression.

Julie Joelle Eliason
Fine Art & Nature Photographer
I began my photography journey as the family shutterbug after receiving my first camera at the age of eight. Over the years, I photographed family and friends whenever possible, eventually expanding into landscapes, wildlife, travel, and fine art photography.
My career as a marine and wildlife biologist gave me rare opportunities to photograph natural environments in remote and untouched locations. I further refined my skills through professional workshops and mentorship under renowned photographers including John Sexton, George Lepp, Rick Sammon, and Fay Sirkis. What started as a passion soon grew into a part-time photography business in California, where my work was exhibited in galleries and featured in books and magazines.
In 2009, I relocated to Hawaii and transitioned fully into photography. Today, my landscape and fine art images are displayed in several Hawaiian galleries. My work focuses on capturing emotional depth, rich textures, and painterly compositions — often blending multiple elements into artistic montages that express the beauty and fragility of nature.
